PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a continuous waiting time while reducing the futile power consumption of a portable telephone set. PSOLUTION: The automatic transfer system for portable telephone sets comprises: a portable telephone set 101 having a portable telephone set network 104; and a prescribed telephone set (fixed telephone set) 102. The automatic transfer system includes: a recognition means which automatically recognizes that the portable telephone set 101 and the telephone set 102 are within a prescribed position range; and an automatic transfer means which, if it is recognized that the portable telephone set 101 and the telephone set 102 are within the prescribed position range, extends an intermittent waiting period of the portable telephone set 101 to automatically transfer an incoming call from the portable telephone set 101 to the telephone set 102 via the portable telephone set network 104.
