PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching agrochemicals by clarifying a target, that is, the method or the like for screening a compound having activity against a specific target by aiming to chemically regulate a target site for controlling a pest.;SOLUTION: The agent that modulates physiological condition of the pest, wherein the agent has ability to modulate the activity of an insect choline acetyltransferase is provided. The method for assaying pesticidal activity of a test substance comprises (1) a first step of measuring the activity of the choline acetyltransferase selected from a specified group A, and the choline acetyltransferase in a reaction system in which the choline acetyltransferase comes into contact with a test substance, and (2) a second step of evaluating the pest-controlling ability of the test substance based on the difference obtained by the comparison between the activity measured by the first step and the activity in the control.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
