PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-versatility animal monitor support apparatus or the like suitable for detecting the abnormal action of a companion animal.;SOLUTION: An animal monitor support apparatus comprises a sensor terminal 2 which is mounted on a companion animal 1, a mobile phone terminal 4, and a monitor support server 5 on the Internet 100. Actions of the companion animal 1 are continuously detected by the sensor terminal 2 to acquire activity data representing activities of the animal. The acquired activity data are transferred to the mobile phone terminal 4 via short-range radio communication and trasferred from the mobile phone terminal 4 to the monitor support server 5. The monitor support server 5 stores therein abnormal activity data, representing abnormal activities, previously acquired from the same kind of individuals as the companion animal 1 according to the similar method to the activity data in an animal hospital 6 or the like, the activity data are compared with the abnormal activity data to determine the presence/absence of any abnormal activity.
