Constructing the maintenance test program of the virtual tape unit and conservative test equipment and maintenance

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically perform operation verification in a virtual tape device.SOLUTION: A maintenance test device 1 executes a test to a virtual tape device 2 which has: a virtual control part 12 for performing communication control with a host device by constructing a virtual tape drive 14; a physical control part 11 for performing the communication control with a physical tape drive 15; and a general control part 13 for controlling the virtual control part and the physical control part. The maintenance test device 1 has: a command management part 21 for associating and managing a test command to be issued to a test object and a log to be monitored for indicating timing to issue the test command; a drive specification part 22 for monitoring a log of the general control part according to designated operations of the test command and the log to be monitored of an execution object, and for specifying a drive to be used in the log to be monitored of the execution object from a monitoring resu and a test command issue part 23 for monitoring the log of the virtual control part or the physical control part according to the specified drive, and for issuing the test command of the execution object to the test object when the log to be monitored of the execution object is detected from the monitoring result.
