PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for directly producing nickel powder using a hydrothermal synthesis method, excellent in dispersibility and reduction rate.SOLUTION: Nickel powder is produced through the steps of: (a) preparing a mixture for hydrothermal synthesis, in which NiO, a pH regulator, PdCl, anthraquinone, PVP (polyvinyl pyrrolidone) and water are mixed; (b) charging the mixture for hydrothermal synthesis into a reaction container and then heating the mixture up to the water boiling point or more; (c) adding a reducing agent to the mixture heated in the (b) step to resolve the NiO and then reducing the NiO into Ni; (d) cooling a resultant product of a hydrothermal reaction in the (c) step; and (e) acquiring Ni powder by cleaning and drying the resultant product cooled in the (d) step.
