PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly determine the classification of a feature point in a fingerprint image.;SOLUTION: A fingerprint feature point classification determination part 3 includes: a rectangular area setting means for setting a rectangular area A configured of a long side in parallel with a feature point direction preset to a feature point in a fingerprint image and a short side in contact with the feature point and a rectangular area B where the rectangular area A is subjected to object movement to an orthogonal segment passing through the feature point, and intersecting perpendicularly with the feature point direction; an in-rectangle mean density calculation means for calculating in-rectangle mean density values (a) and b as mean density values in the respective rectangular areas A and B; and a feature point classification determination means for determining whether the classification of each feature point is a branch point or end point by comparing the sizes of the in-rectangle mean density value (a) and the in-rectangle mean density value b for determination.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
