PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heme protein stabilization method and a preservation solution effective against denaturation-decomposition action of heme proteins represented by hemoglobin.;SOLUTION: In the heme protein stabilization method and the preservation solution, an iminocarboxylic acid or its salt is made to coexist in a heme protein-containing sample. The iminocarboxylic acid is expressed by formula (1).
