PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a wide range of work like inspection and repair of an external surface of a piping such as a core splay piping in a short time with little use of crane or human worker.SOLUTION: The reactor piping work apparatus comprises: a horizontally travelling mechanism that is, when a reactor is stopped from operating, mounted over a cylindrical object 2 which is disposed vertically in a reactor pressure vessel 1 with vertical axis and that travels in a circumferential direction of the cylindrical object 2 horizontally along the top of the cylindrical object 2; a mast 14 that is movable upward and downward and attached to the horizontally travelling mechanism to position in a vertical direction; a circumferential direction moving mechanism 17 that is attached to the mast 14 so as to be able to move in a circumferential direction of a piping 3 in a furnace; and a probe that is attached to the circumferential direction moving mechanism 17 to perform works while coming closer to the external surface of the piping 3 in the furnace or coming into contact therewith.
