PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer-coated aerogel which maintains characteristics of an aerogel with voids formed therein and is excellent in heat insulation characteristics, physical strength, and processability.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the polymer-coated aerogel is provided, which comprises mixing an aerogel with a polymeric substance in the dry state to impregnate polymer microparticles onto the surface of the aerogel and then forming a polymer layer by thermal treatment.
