PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop utilization of Thai silk, to provide a method for recovering a sericin protein, and to provide a skin cleansing product.;SOLUTION: This method for recovering the sericin protein from the Thai silk comprises mixing the Thai silk or cocoons thereof with water in a ratio of 1 to 20 in weight, and then heating the mixture at about 110-120°C. The heating process is carried out under a pressure of ≤14 lb/inch² for about 25-30 min. The silk cleansing product contains 0.01-20.00 wt% of the sericin protein, 2.00-20.00 wt% of sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, and 1.00-30.00 wt% of glycerol (for glycerinated soap) or 20.00-75.00 wt% of a vegetable or animal fat (for hard soap). The product is safe, assists to supply the skin with nutriment for the purpose of smoothing and softening the skin, when used, and does not cause irritation, so that the product is used for both men and women of all ages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
