PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling glow discharge plasma in gas or gas mixture under atmospheric condition including at least two separate electrodes (2) and at a plasma discharge spacing, in which the glow discharge plasma is controlled so as to prevent or remove instability of plasma at the end of plasma pulse.;SOLUTION: By impressing an AC plasma energizing voltage on the electrodes (2), at least one plasma pulse having an absolute pulse maximum value is generated, and a plasma current and a displacement current are generated. The plasma is controlled by providing a relative reduction in the displacement current after the pulse maximum value.
