PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an "in-vehicle navigation device and a handwriting input method of the in-vehicle navigation device" in which a character can be written into a handwriting input area so that the handwritten character is not written beyond the handwriting input area on a display section even when a vehicle vibrates.;SOLUTION: An in-vehicle navigation device includes: vibration measuring means 4 for measuring a vibration amount and a vibration direction of a vehicle; a display section 7 for displaying, on a display screen, a display area of a road map, a hand writing input area, and a candidate character display area to display one or more candidate characters extracted based on a handwritten character inputted from the handwriting input area; and a handwriting input area expanding/moving signal generation section 24 for generating a signal to expand the handwriting input area or to move a position of the handwriting input area in accordance with the vibration amount and the vibration direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
