PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant base oil having low viscosity at a low temperature (40°C), being excellent in viscosity index and low-temperature fluidity, and having a high flash point, and to provide a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: The lubricant base oil is composed of a hydride of a decene oligomer obtained by using a metallocene catalyst, the decene oligomer hydrogenate having (A) a kinematic viscosity of 16 mm2/s or lower at 40°C, (B) a flash point of 225°C or higher, and (C) a pour point of -50°C or lower, and the method for producing the same is disclosed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
