The invention relates to a subchannel selection method and a subchannel selection device and a receiver using the device. The subchannel selection device is used for selecting a proper subchannel froma plurality of subchannels, and each subchannel comprises one or more subcarriers. The subchannel selection device is characterized by comprising a poorest subcarrier determination unit and a comparison and selection unit, wherein the poorest subcarrier determination unit determines the signal to noise ratio of each subcarrier according to the channel gain of each subcarrier in each subchannel ofthe plurality of subchannels and determines the poorest subcarriers of each subchannel of the plurality of subchannels; and the comparison and selection unit is used for determining the signal to noise ratio of the poorest subcarriers in each subchannel according to the poorest subcarriers, determines the poorest subcarrier with the highest signal to noise ratio in the plurality of poorest subcarriers as the best poorest subcarrier and selects the corresponding subchannel of the best poorest subcarrier.
