PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective thickness control method of an electromagnetic wave absorber capable of simply realizing a desired electromagnetic wave absorber by substantially controlling the thickness by arranging a plurality of combinations of a plurality of electromagnetic wave absorbing members of different thickness. PSOLUTION: An effective thickness control method of an electromagnetic wave absorber controls an effective thickness of the electromagnetic wave absorber by arranging a plurality of absorbing members 3 to 6 including at least one electromagnetic wave absorbing member of different thickness in a planar shape and constituting the electromagnetic wave absorber. Thus, realization of the electromagnetic wave absorber of desired characteristics is possible by utilizing an existing electromagnetic wave absorbing member without producing newly the electromagnetic wave absorber, and reduction of design cost and production cost is possible.
