PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an automatic process of an ionogram observation data. PSOLUTION: Since the ionogram cleared of a noise by using an image curve extraction algorithm is categorized into an O mode point group and an X mode point group, a frequency distance and a delay time difference between the point groups are estimated. An element in the O mode point group (or the X mode point group) is moved by an estimate value. The point group is categorized by a fact whether the element in the X mode point (or the O mode point group) is in the vicinity of a destination. Only the O mode (or X mode) ionosphere echo is extracted from the ionogram by applying a curve extraction method using a genetic algorithm based on a visual grouping factor to the categorized point group.
