P To provide an extensible and contractible belt conveyer and an excavation muck carrying method by using it for preventing facilities from being fixed and preventing the belt conveyer from interfering with the other related work. PSOLUTION: This extensible and contractible belt conveyer 1 includes a pair of rails 2 and 2, a belt conveyer slave machine 3 movable ON the pair of rails 2 and 2 through wheels, a belt conveyer master machine 4 having an overlapping means 5 being installable by overlapping the slave machine 3 ON it and a getting-in-and-out means 6 installed among the pair of rails 2 and 2 and the master machine 4 and moving and guiding the slave machine 3 to get in and out of the master machine 4. The slave machine 3 is installed by overlapping it ON the master machine 4 and is moved among the master machine 4 and the pair of rails 2 and 2 by any traction means to extend and contract the whole length of the belt conveyer composed of the master machine 4 and the slave machine 3.
