PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reusing data, which allows even people without legal knowledge on financial or tax matters to create a new file by searching existing files for desired files and referring to the desired files for use. PSOLUTION: The method for reusing data includes an existing file evaluation step which includes obtaining management information associated with a file being edited that an application about to use an existing file is handling, then obtaining management information associated with each existing file, and evaluating whether or not each existing file to be processed is similar to the file being edited, based on the management information obtained, while setting all or some of the existing files as the subject of processing; a display order determination step for determining the order of display when the existing files, i.e., the subject of processing in the existing file evaluation step, are displayed as a list based on evaluation results; and a list display step for displaying the list of existing orders, the subject of processing, in the order that conforms to the determination result.
