PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify an area including a code area without identifying code contents.;SOLUTION: A two-dimensional image code comprises: a code area 10a having a code in which a data cell is expressed by two colors, namely a high brightness color and a low brightness color of which brightness is lower than that of the high brightness color; and a high brightness area 10b provided around the code area and consisting of a high brightness color of which brightness is higher than that of the low brightness color. The code area and the high brightness area form a QR code (R), the code area has a specific shape area 10d, and the specific shape area is larger than the minimum unit of the data cell.
