PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system of reforming a woody biomass gas that first, attains conversion of chemical energy of contained tar to chemical energy of a fuel gas effectively, during the conversion of the woody biomass gas into fuel, and second, achieves the conversion excellently in cost and efficiency.;SOLUTION: This reforming system includes a pyrolytic furnace 1, a reforming reactor 2, and an engine 3. The pyrolytic furnace 1 pyrolytically decomposes the woody biomass A using an exhaust gas B from the engine 3. Into the reforming reactor 2, granular carbide C obtained by the pyrolysis in the pyrolytic furnace 1 is fed from its upper part, and a generated gas D obtained by the pyrolysis in the pyrolytic furnace 1 is fed from its bottom. Under an elevated temperature produced by heat of the generated gas D and additional partial combustion heat of an internal combustion method due to introduction of air F to the gas D, tar vapor E in the generated gas D is reacted with water vapor in the generated gas D, thus being reformed into hydrogen, methane and carbon monoxide, etc. The engine 3 uses the reformed gas G of the generated gas D as fuel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
