USE OF THE RESISTANCE EQUIVALENT TO CALCULATE THE HEATER TEMPERATURE OF A DISCHARGE GAS POST-TREATMENT COMPONENT. A temperature of a heated component is determined for control and monitoring. The heater pilot, after receiving a connected signal, generates a current within an electronic catalyst component or after-treatment discharge component, in which the current through the component generates an appropriate loss to generate heat for facilitation discharge after-treatment process. The heater pilot regulates the energy for the heated component based on the electrical resistance of that component as a function of the temperature and a predetermined reference value for that temperature.
