The current invention relates a method of formulating bioflexi layer loaded with rosiglitazone using a novel biomaterial which was isolated from cicer arietinum by a simplified economical process for delivering of rosiglitazone through a novelistic translabial platform. The novel biomaterial was isolated from the seeds of cicer arietinum using methanol as a desolvating liquid and the biomaterial was subjected for characterization. The isolated biomaterial showed inbuilt property like mucoadhesitivity, binding and disintegrating agent, biowall material, and filmability. The same was confirmed by suitably formulating drug loaded doses form like tablet nanoparticle and bio film. The bioflexi layer loaded with rosiglitazone was prepared by using bio material as film former and dextrose as a flexicizer in order to improve the flexibility of the film. All the formulations displayed zero order release kinetics, promising mucoadhesitivity, filmability, uniform texture, significant folding endurance with promising stability. The films were subjected for in-vitro and ex-vivo release using goat labial membrane and study was performed by using static MS Diffusion cell. The best formulation shows drug release for an extended period of 24 hrs and followed zero order release kinetics.
