According to the invention, the airjet spinning machine comprises at least one cleaning device (1 0) having an infeed (1 1) and an outlet (12) for a cleaning medium (1 3), wherein a cleaning medium (1 3) fed to the cleaning device (10) through the infeed (1 1) can be introduced into the vortex chamber (3) during the cleaning step. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for cleaning the vortex chamber (3) by means of the cleaning medium.
