AN IMPROVED GROUND FAULT PROTECTION MECHANISM FOR QUICK DETECTION AND ISOLATION OF A GROUND FAULT TO PREVENT DAMAGES IN PARALLEL OR UP-STREAM CIRCUITS ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM
The invention relates to an improved ground fault protection mechanism for quick detection and isolation of the faulted (ground) zone without the operation of unfaulted upstream or parallel circuits associated with the faulted zone of a electrical power supply system network, characterized in that a two stage amplifier and a sensing resistor are introduced within a known device, wherein the sensing resistor feeds a voltage to the two amplifiers, the first stage amplifies the voltage from miiiVolt range to Volt range, the second stage pumps a current mirrored to the leakage current detected by the device, wherein the pumped current is fed between a neutral input terminal and a ground conductor (fifth conductor) of the power supply system to compensate the upstream power supply network with the leakage unbalanced detected by the improved ELCB; and make all upstream devices unsighted of the fault/ leakage detected and the leakage processed by the downstream devices.
