The present invention is related to the application of polymeric resins and polymeric resins doped with TiO2 as coatings for metallic external surfaces of industrial use, such as: stainless steel, carbon steel and copper. The invention is specifically focused on the synthesis of a water-based anticorrosive polymeric resin, which consists in nano-structured polymeric particles formed by 2 or more acrylic, vinyl or styrene monomers with a functional agent and crosslinking agent of 1.0 to 20% by weight of each one. In addition, the polymeric resins are doped , these including titanium dioxide nanotubes in concentrations ranging from 50 to 10,000 ppm. The water-based polymeric resin is synthesized by emulsion polymerization techniques, the charge of titanium dioxide nanotubes being introduced during the synthesis (these tubes being synthesized according to the patent US 7, 645,439 B2), which enable the dispersion thereof in the polymeric matrix.
