The Robus genus pertains to the Rosaceae family; it comprises more than 700 species distributed all over the world, Rubus adenotrichus being a perennial climbing shrub, with semi-straight stems of variable length, which are rounded, thorny, branched and with constant new leaves in the base of the plant. The present invention provides a process for obtaining antioxidants from a suspension culture of Rubus adenotrichus Scltdl, since the antioxidants are of great interest due to their biological activity as free radical collectors, especially anthocyanins, so that the present invention may provide the ideal conditions for producing secondary metabolites (phenols and flavonoids) with a potential value for developing nutraceuticals and/or drugs from said species.
