The present invention refers to the use of dimeric naphthoquinones such as maritinone, an isomer of the same such as 3,3' -biplumbagin and derivatives thereof, obtained from the bark of the Diospyros anisandra plant, which activity over Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains resistant to the five drugs of first line, enables the use of said dimeric naphthoquinones as a base for the development of novel oral, intravenous and/or intramuscular anti-tuberculosis formulations.
