The disclosure relates to a use of 4-(acetylamino)-N-(2aminophenyl)benzamide (CI-994) or dinaline or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester, prodrug or metabolite thereof in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of Alzheimers disease, Huntingtons disease, for improving cognitive function in a normal subject and for promoting fear extinction in a subject.
