The invention relates to a process and a tool for toothing double plane frontal worm gears used in gearing with a cylindrical worm, case when the two plane frontal worm gears have identical toothing, except for the inclination sense, a worm having the inclination sense to the right and the other the inclination sense to the left. According to the invention, the process for machining the toothing consists in simultaneously machining the two worms on the toothing machine with worm cutter, by the method of the tangential feed. As claimed by the invention, the tool has a geometry quasi-identical to that of the worm gear, its geometrical parameters being determined similarly with those of the cylindrical worm gears and it is made in a mono-bloc structure consisting of an area of an entering cone (1), an area of finishing-calibrating (2), a neck of the worm cutter (3), determined so as to provide the condition that, upon finishing the tangential travel, a shoulder (4) does not touch the wheel blank, the shoulder (4) and the tool shank (5).
