The invention relates to a process for exploiting the sodium lignosulphonate resulting from the technology of wood delignification for obtaining bisulphite cellulose. According to the invention, the process comprises the polycondensation of the sodium lignosulphonate solution in a concentration of 40% with phenol, in a ratio of 1:1, in the presence of sulphuric acid, at a temperature of 115°C, for 210 min, to result in a lignophenolic resin having physical, chemical and behaviour characteristics suitable for its use as an additive in industrial insulations.
