The invention relates to psychophysiology, namely to a method for assessing the rate of the central processing of information in the higher segments of the nervous system consists in presenting a set of the stimuli to the person under examination. Then the average time of the latent period of the simple reaction is measured. Then a new set of the stimuli is presented for measuring the average time of the latent period of the complex reaction (selection of two among three). The rate of the central processing of information in the higher segments of the nervous system is defined as the difference between the average time of the latent periods of the complex and simple reaction. The average time of the latent period of the complex reaction is measured as the average time of response to the stimuli produced in the feedback mode when each next exposition of stimulus depends on the character of the previous response. The correct answer recorded during exposition time of the stimulus or during 200 ms interval between the stimuli results in shortening the next exposition by 20 ms while after the wrong answer the next exposition is extended by 20 ms.
