METHOD FOR TEMPORARY HEMOSTASIS OF ABDOMINAL AORTA

The method for the temporary hemostasis of the abdominal aorta comprises the mechanical occlusion of the vascular bed with the aid of the inflatable balloon inserted through arteriotomy of the right or left femoral artery with the aid of the catheter. The insertion of the catheter is controlled by measuring the distance from puncture site to the omphalus and the distance from the xiphoid process to the omphalus. The sum of these two distances is increased by 2 cm for asthenic patients, by 4 cm for normosthenic patients, and by 6 cm for hypersthenic patients. The balloon of the catheter is positioned in the specified segment of aorta.
