The method for the assessment of the response of cardiovascular system to the load in the patients with the congenital heart defects comprises the test with graduated physical load (stair walking). The individually set output is calculated. The electrocardiogram is recorded in 12 leads. The changes following the load are analyzed. In addition, echocardiography is provided. The end-diastolic and end-systolic volumes of the left ventricle, the ejection fraction of the left ventricle, the stroke output and cardiac output of both ventricles are measured. The end-diastolic and end-systolic indices of the left ventricle are calculated. The hemodynamic parameters on the valves of the major blood vessels are assessed with calculation of peak and average gradients in aortal valve and the valve of pulmonary artery and regurgitation on atrioventricular and semilunar valves of the heart. Echocardiography is recorded and analyzed at rest, at maximum load and after the load.
