Disclosed is a method for extraction-photometric determination of mefenamic acid, wherein mefenamic acid is bound to ion associate with polymethine dye. Complex is extracted with mix of isooctane with dichloroethane, with spectrophotometric determination of extract prepared. Astrafloxine is used as a dye, a mixture of organic solvents of isooctane with dichlorethane is used as an extractant.
