SEVERHIN'S METHOD FOR PALLIATIVE TREATMENT OF PERIPHERAL LUNG CANCER

The method for the palliative treatment of the peripheral lung cancer comprises the embolization of the bronchial arteries and the radio frequency ablation of cancer. The femoral artery is catheterized using Seldinger technique. The catheter is passed to the thoracic aorta. The bronchial arteries supplying the tumor are contrasted. X-ray assisted endovascular embolization of the bronchial arteries is performed with polypropylene emboli. Then the catheter is removed. On the Day 2-3 postoperatively, the tumor is treated with the radio frequency ablation.
