The invention concerns a device to prevent water splashing from a water-filled bowl (3). the discharge of more or less solid or liquid material into the water-filled bowl. The discovery is that the water surface (6) in the bowl (3) is mostly shielded upwards by extremely light, preferably spherical floating bodies (7),floating on the surface of the water (6) in the bowl and with its hemispherical sub-parts reflecting rising water splash back towards the surface of the water.(Figure 2 for publication)
