The object of the present invention is to fully improve planar thermal solar collectors or those of low concentration by using transparent thermal insulation on the cover, thereby increasing the yield thereof and minimizing the production costs and the weight thereof. More specifically, the present invention relates to the use of systems that provide protection against overheating of the cellular transparent plastic insulating materials by means of a ventilation channel. Also addressed is the concept of an integrated collector with a cover having cellular transparent plastic insulation, in which there is a reservoir for a fluid that acts as thermal-energy accumulator and is incorporated into the collector, and which in turn confers thermal inertia on the entire system, thereby limiting the maximum temperature achieved therein. The accumulator reservoir incorporates a valve that limits pressure and temperature, utilizing the latent heat from liquid/vapour phase exchange.
