Use of β-amino acid derivatives unsubstituted in the α position of the structure as chiral selectors in processes for separating mixtures of substances, preferably mixtures of chiral substances, particularly preferably enantiomers, in particular enantiomers of substances selected from the group containing β-amino acids and their derivatives, β-amino acids and α-hydroxy acids, characterized in that n means 1-5, preferably n means 1 on means 2, R1 means (C1-C4) alkyl, aryl (C6 -C10), aralkyl (C7-C13), heteroalkyl (C7-C10), pyridyl, hydroxymethyl, CH (OH) CH3, CH2CONH2, CH2COOH, (CH2) 2CONH2, (CH2) 2COOH, (CH2) 4NH2, (CH2) 2SCH3 or (CH2) 3NHC (NH) NH2, where X is OH or represents an aminopropyl linker, through which the selector is attached, in the form of carboxylic acid amide, to the support material, and R2 means 3, 5-dinitrobenzoyl or naphthyl, when X represents a linker for the uni n covalently to a support material, or R2 is CH2CHR3R4, wherein R3 is H or OH and R4 represents (C1-C20), aryl (C6-C10) or aralkyl (C7-C13), when X represents OH.
