This device comprises: means (26) for establishing a first data file representative of the morphological characteristics of the member (30), comprising the three-dimensional coordinates of a mesh of points (68) at different dimensions; means (10) for establishing a second data file representative of the dimensional and rheological characteristics of the orthosis defined at different ratings; contention simulation means (48), capable of determining, from the data of the first and second files, contention pressure values that can be exerted by the orthosis on the limb at a plurality of points of said mesh; and means (50) for graphically presenting the pressure values thus determined, in particular by superimposing a 3D graphical representation of the member, or a section thereof, of a false color coding or gray of the calculated pressure.
