The invention concerns an abrasion resistant rubber composite used as liningmaterial in mining applications. In particular, the invention concerns the useof arubber composition for conveying an abrasive solid material or slurry throughamaterial conveyance equipment lined with said rubber composition or forstoringa material in a material storage equipment lined with said rubber composition.The rubber composition comprises a natural rubber; between about 15 to about25 parts per hundred rubber, or PHR, butadiene; between about 20 to about 40PHR silica; between about 0.4 to about 4 PHR organosilane polysulfur cross-linkingagent; and between about 15 to about 25 PHR of a plasticizing oil.
