A method and system for the produc-tionof a gas hydrate including the steps of drillinginto a subterranean gas hydrate formation and at leastpartially depressurizing the gas hydrate formation topermit separation of gas and water from the hydrateform. The gas and water is then pumped from thefor-mation and recovered from the well. At least a portionof water pumped from the well is water that is intro-ducedinto the well from the surface or reintroducedby a feed back loop from the production operation.
