The invention relates to a devicefor monitoring the success of spinal anesthesiaha-ving at least one electronic temperature sensor formeasuring the skin surface temperature within atleast one dermatome of a patient; an electronicanalysis device connected to the at least onetem-perature sensor and designed so that it monitorsthe measurement signal provided by the at leastone temperature sensor to determine whether theskin surface temperature increases by about 2 to 3°C; and a display device optically and/oracousti-cally indicating the result of the analysis by theelectronic analysis device.
