SELECTIVE RECOVERY OF COPPER AND SILVER FROM COMPLEX SULPHIDE ORE, CONCENTRATE, TAILINGS, CRUSHED ORE OR MINE SLUDGE

A method of selectively recovering at least one of copper and silver fromcomplexsulphidic mineral, their oxidized forms or concentrates containing iron andotherundesirable metals as impurities is disclosed herein. The process involvesoxidation ofthe sulphide mineral with an oxidant followed by complexing of the metals athigh pH toform soluble metal compounds. The dissolved metals are selectively recoveredasmetals or metal compounds. The lixiviant is regenerated for further leaching.Oxidizedforms of the mineral do not require the use of an oxidant.
