Provided is a private branch exchange which is capable of independently adjusting the call audio level or call quality according to the telephone or the connection type of the communication line. The private branch exchange is provided with a audio quality characteristic configuration DB (116) for storing audio quality adjustment values of gain circuits (112 and 122) and an echo canceller circuit (121) for which optimal call quality can be acquired according to the combination for each group by telephone type and by line type to connect for a call, and a connection path DB (117) for storing information related to the connection path determined by combination of telephone and communication line to connect for the call, wherein if a connection request is made from a telephone or communication line, the connection path DB (117) is referenced so as to acquire, by reference, audio adjustment values to be set for the gain circuits (112 and 122) and echo canceller circuit (121) which exist upon the determined connection path in order to perform settings for the gain circuits (112 and 122) and echo canceller circuit (121).
