#$%^&*AU2012233043B220140424.pdf#####ABSTRACT There is disclosed a personal protection system comprising: a head unit to be worn over the head of the wearer; a hood which is held over said head unit, said hood having a transparent face shield which is formed from flexible material; and a ventilation assembly which is integrated with the head unit and operable to draw air from outside the hood into said hood, wherein said face shield is fastened to the head unit so as to have a radius of curvature that varies top-to-bottom along said face shield whereby the radius of curvature at a top portion thereof is greater than and the radius of curvature adjacent a lower portion thereof.
