The invention relates to a method for producing a light-weight metal component, comprising at least the following steps: producing a bolt (10) from a hypereutectic high-performance aluminium alloy with an Si content of 17-35 wt.%; in a first step, forming the bolt (10) using extrusion with a first degree of deformation to obtain an intermediate hollow section (20); in a second step, forming said intermediate hollow section (20) using extrusion with a second degree of deformation to obtain an end section (30), the total degree of deformation across the two stages lying in the order of magnitude of 1:36 to 1:90, and geometric dimensions, tolerances and/or material properties of the light-weight metal component being adjusted on the end section (30) by means of the extrusion process. The invention also relates to a light-weight metal component produced according to said method, and to an internal combustion engine comprising at least one cylinder liner formed by such a light-weight metal component.
