An address book-based automatic classification method and device, and a mobile terminal. The method comprises: dividing a name card folder in an address book into a plurality of classes of groups; synchronizing the groups in the address book into a communication software module; and when a mobile terminal receives an external message, saving the message in a group folder or a group list corresponding to the related communication software module. The technical solution mentioned above divides corresponding groups via a name card folder edited by a user, so that a message can automatically enter a corresponding group folder or group list when it comes, thereby being able to quickly look for required information, increase the number of ways in which queries can be made, significantly improve the efficiency, and facilitate the work and life of the user.
