A server device (10) acquires an image of a test subject taken by a camera (32). The server device (10) applies independent component analysis on a plurality of light wavelength component signals that are included in the image. The server device (10) converts the plurality of independent component signals, obtained from the application of the independent component analysis, to frequency components. The server device (10) executes calculations on the spectrums converted to frequency components for each independent component signal to combine the spectrums of the independent component signals. Further, the server device (10) uses the combined spectrums obtained from the calculations to detect the vital signs of the test subject.
