OSCILLATOR COMPRISING JOSEPHSON JUNCTIONS HAVING HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTRODES, HETERODYNE DETECTOR INCLUDING SUCH AN OSCILLATOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH AN OSCILLATOR
The invention relates to an oscillator (14), which is capable of emitting electromagnetic waves, which includes first (18) and second (20) electrodes, at least two stacks (22) of Josephson junctions (36), each stack (22) having a first end (26) electrically connected to the first electrode (18) and a second end (28) electrically connected to the second electrode (20). Each stack (22) extends in a vertical direction (Z), and each Josephson junction (36) comprises two superconducting layers (40A, 40B) and one non-superconducting layer (42) arranged between the two superconducting layers (40A, 40B) in a vertical direction (Z). The superconducting layers (40A, 40B) of at least one Josephson junction (36) consist of a high-temperature superconducting material, said high-temperature superconducting material having a critical temperature greater than 30°K and preferably greater than 60°K.
