The invention provides a shopping cart which includes a body which defines a passenger compartment and at least one goods carrying basket. The cart includes wheels mounted on the body and a handle mounted adjacent to a rear facing exterior surface of the body. An outward facing media display screen is mounted to an exterior surface of the body, and the invention includes a processor to control the retrieval and display of media on the display screen to observers of the exterior of the cart. The invention also includes a battery arranged to supply electrical energy to the media display and the processor.
